the best part of waking up

  And there are my lovely 18th Century British Literature notes ... ahh, studying.

My apologies (random fact of the day: back in high school, me & my close friend would say "my apple cheese" instead of "my apologies" because we were 'cool' like that) for not doing Ask Nikolett yesterday (I'll do it soon, promise)! Apart from studying, it was the first time seeing The Boy in nine days - that absence definitely made my heart grow fonder, I'll tell you that much. 

Even though I'm still studying, he finished his exams up yesterday afternoon so we decided to have a little celebration - by going clothes shopping for him and then out to eat. Since it was Earth Day (what did you do to celebrate?) we decided that I would take the bus and shorten the amount of gas his car would use in picking me up ... but of course, the bus shows up late and when one finally showed up it was a "Sorry, Out Of Service" bus (rawr!) so by the time I caught one, we met up at the half-way point ... ah well, I tried Earth! (Plus I commute every day to school, so that counts, right?)

After half an hour of shopping we hit up East Side Mario's ... where we felt like morons but still had fun. As soon as we got there (at 9:30pm) we asked for a booth and the seater went, "Ah, you want to go out on the patio?" And we totally did not get the joke. "Nuuu!" I cried. "It's so cold out!" And he laughed and went, "I'm just kidding." I am slow.

Then, we noticed this $10.99 pasta deal (which we didn't end up going for since you had to pay an extra $3.99 for each additional topping - lamesauce), and none of the pastas had any descriptions. And, since we're both Eastern European, I don't know too much about pastas or sauces. So this is how it went down:

ME: Hi, I was just wondering ... there are no descriptions of these pastas and we're not sure which one to go with, could you tell us what kind of pasta each one is and such?
WAITER: Well ... it's pretty self-explanatory.
ME: Umm, but, what kind of pasta is fettucine alfredo?
WAITER: Well, it's uh ... fettucine with alfredo sauce.
ME: Um ...
THE BOY: Okay, um ... look honey, you have to pay extra for toppings, let's just go with a regular pasta that has stuff in it and get the unlimited soup/salad deal.
WAITER: Or you could go with the pizza.
THE BOY: (pause) We'll figure it out in two minutes, thanks though!

Gah, next time I go I will Google up all the pastas so I know what kind they are. But the waiter ended up snapping a picture of us with our meals, so I guess he deserved his tip:

And before I continue studying, I've been noticing this "fill in the blank Fridays" on several amazing blogs, and decided to take part! The lady who does them is found here, if you want to take part!

1.  One song that always takes me back to my youth is  "Fernando" by ABBA.  Anything by them, really. When me and my family would take our 6-hour road trips to go camping, we would blast tapes that had ABBA, Pink Floyd, and Fred Penner. Fond memories :)

2.  My first concert ever was     Oh boy ... umm, that would be Eric Nagler (from what I remember), I got a signed CD from him and he had a children's show. And after that, would be Britney Spears (had such bad seats, right behind a speaker so I had to crook my neck to the side to see Britney).

3.  If I could create my dream music festival I'd want these bands to be there:       MUSE, for sure, as well as ... Utada Hikaru, Ayumi Hamasaki, 2NE1, then artists like Brooke Fraser and A Fine Frenzy for the mellow stuff, then David Guetta and Dash Berlin to get my dancing groove on, and The All-American Rejects since I used to love them, but only if the lead singer stops looking like a druggie .

4.  The best make-out/"boot knocking" song ever is      LOL, well I'm not much of a listen-to-music-while-doing-such-things, but one time we listened to "Hips Don't Lie" by Shakira on repeat haha .

5.  The best concert I've ever been to was     MUSE, last month were absolutely INCREDIBLE. Such an unforgettable show.

6.  A memorable musical moment for me was        The All-American Rejects: saw them in London once where we hung out with them for a good hour afterwards, and then in Toronto we got free tickets from Tyson (the lead singer) when the show was sold out and we saw them at a signing in HMV ... epicness and such good memories with friends.

7.  The song on my iPod that's getting the most play these days is -     I don't have an iPod :( Buuut, I'm loving every song by Charmaine, especially "Run" (can't find on Youtube) and "Revolutionary Thought", and of course "Imma Be" because of the way the Shaytard kids dance to it (go to 5:06 of this vid).
