simple smiles #48

I can't believe it's less than two week 'til Christmas! While the weather isn't cooperating, we're going to put up the Christmas tree tomorrow and I'm going to buckle down tonight and watch some 'holiday' movies - I'm not a huge classic holiday film person (mainly because I don't own any) so I'll most likely be watching Love, Actually and Beauty and the Beast (a lot of it is set in winter, hence the holiday-ness haha).

When you're sick for almost a whole month straight, looking at those simple moments that make you smile can make all the difference, because if it weren't for them you would probably spend the whole time in bed, feeling like a zombie. Or feeling sorry for yourself because you haven't gotten any better (which is so counter-productive and just makes you feel worse). I am so grateful for those around me who make each day better. Here are those simple smiles that have been filling up my life lately.

The "Get Well Soon" Package: The Boy came over the other week and said he'd bring me some kind of 'get well soon' package; I did the same thing for him last winter when he was sick a lot due to school stress - except my package was full of Fisherman's Friend and tissues :P The first thing I heard when he hugged me hello was rustling, and for a second I thought they were chips (and since I rarely have 'em, I thought "oooh!"). The chips were actually a bouquet of roses, along with a package of candy and strawberry-kiwi wine (my new favourite). It's probably one of the best packages ever, and was so spontaneous and random and ... ahh, just warmed my heart right up :)

The Grade 8s: It seems a cruel thing, to let you enter into a classroom on random dates in September-October, let you spend four weeks straight with a class, and then take you out completely. I became so attached to my associate teacher and my students during my first teaching block, and it really solidified my love for teaching, that I was dreading my last week with them. While things sprung up here and there that surprised me (i.e., hormones), they were such an amazing group of students.

So when it came to my last day, I prepared an art lesson for them as kind of my 'last message' to them and advice as they move on to high school and bigger and better things. The quote is from Martin Luther King, Jr:  "Faith is taking the first step, even when you don't see the whole staircase." Since I did rotary with both grade 8 classes, I got to know 58 students and gave them each a letter of the alphabet that they had to design using typography skills and putting in their own personality. It was supposed to happen during the last two periods of the day, complete with Christmas music and treats.

Turns out, they had a surprise for me earlier on in the day. I went downstairs to heat up my hot cocoa and when I came back upstairs, the other grade 8 teacher said, "You can't come in this classroom, I'll come get you, though" (since both classes were in one room). I could hear them shouting out the 12 Days of Christmas and was a bit bitter that I couldn't join in with them ... and decided to mark instead lol.

Eventually they came to get me and as I entered the room they shouted, "WE'LL MISS YOU!" and enveloped me with a huge group hug and tons of gifts ... they spoiled me rotten (I'm now reading the final book in The Hunger Games thanks to my associate teacher who remembered that that was the only one I hadn't read yet) and were such an unbelievable first class to have.

On the left is a 'thank you' card from one student who asked me what my favourite cartoons were (I confessed they were Pokemon and Sailor Moon haha) and gave me this card with Pikachu in it. On the right is the 'staircase' part of the quote that the students designed. They made my day, my week, and my whole teachers college experience unforgettable.

The Celebrations: That same night, I got together with a group of classmates to celebrate, and since I'm a bit of a hermit when it comes to that, it was a fun night out :) But even better than that was finding out that me and my best friends that I've known since high school would get together this month to do our annual Secret Santa. As time goes on it seems to become harder and harder to meet up with those you care about, even though you still do care. And that only gets worse because time seems to fly by faster as you get older. I am so stoked to get to celebrate with them next week and finally have all five of us reunited!

The Christmas Spirit: While the snow keeps saying 'hello' and then disappearing abruptly, my neighbourhood is surrounded with lights (though it's no Candy Cane Lane from New Girl - something that I need to marathon with my sister when we meet up again). My Christmas cards are all sent out and there's just those little things that keep popping up - like not minding the Christmas decorations and music when you're out shopping at a surprisingly quiet time in the mall, or using manipulatives in our math class to make a Christmas tree.

And to complete the Christmas mood, I'm making one of my caffeinated mixes (which I haven't done in a while) and making it holiday-oriented; I'll be blasting it tomorrow when I put up the tree and expect a download up by this upcoming Tuesday!

Now, I have to ask:
What's your remedy to get better when you're sick?
'Cause I need it haha.

And what are your plans for this weekend?
Hope it's a great one! :)

life's a beach

Long weekends are great, aren't they? You get that chance to just unwind for a day or two, reconnect with people, or let you be by yourself and just enjoy the moment. It was Thanksgiving in Canada this past weekend and the weather was perfect - which means that, of course, the rest of this week is going to be cold and rainy (c'est la vie, mais oui!).

Even though I've been yearning for a hike (and stepping on crunchy leaves) ever since it became autumn, the weather this weekend called for: a beach outing with The Boy

Don't mind the dry cuticles ... loved this little "bouquet" he picked for me.

We couldn't decide whether to GO kart or not ...
so we creeped while eating Haribo (the YUMMIEST candy).

Gazing off into the distance ... there's something so tranquil about being by water.

Jumping photo (a.k.a. We're sooooaring, flyyyying photos)!

A skipping rock competition turned into me capturing him throwing dozens of rocks into the lake. This was our favourite one :)

Next came Thanksgiving, which has always been a bit of a low-key event for us since most of my family lives in Poland; now with my sister in B.C., it was just me, my parents, and The Boy eating a delicious dinner and then watching Horrible Bosses (which was hilarious).

Wore a dress from Hungary - and that's it! Hottest Thanksgiving ever :)
And in case you're wondering - it's amaretto almond coffee (delicious).

Just looking back on this weekend makes up for a week of stress from lesson planning and having my first real lesson in front of six chosen grade 8 students, my peers from teachers college, my faculty advisor AND a video camera. To say I was stressed was an understatement ... and since the school we're at doesn't have a proper heating or cooling system, I was sweating buckets. I decided to do a lesson on homophones and homographs and it actually went pretty well :)

Now that's it done, I know I still have so much to improve on, but my classmates were so encouraging so instead of coming home and having a breakdown I turned on the kettle, boiled some water, and made a coffee/hot chocolate/Nutella concoction. Pretty good way to relax, methinks.

This weekend I'm celebrating mine and The Boy's friends getting engaged over drinks, having a youth group meeting (complete with owl cupcakes, need I say more), and err ... homework. 'Tis a thrilling life for me.

What are you up to this weekend?
If you haven't yet, make sure to join the "what a hoot!" giveaway!

simple smiles #45

Today was one of those days where you wake up and realize that September is already half-way gone, that the official first day of autumn is coming up even if it felt like it days ago, and that three weeks have gone by without a blog post (sorry for being a stranger!). Lately life has been a combination of these three things:

The year of the planner has begun - I started teachers college a couple of weeks ago which means writing down due dates and "do I really have to do this?" reminders (and keeping all my pens and my glasses in my Harajuku pencil case). It also means having my addiction to coffee triple and encouraged by friends - I got not one, but two reusable coffee mugs and not one, but two coffee cup cozies, including the adorable one above from Leesh as a surprise birthday gift (thank youuuuu)!

And in my downtime, I focus on those simple smiles: enjoying the scent of a creamy pumpkin candle, sweatin' to Just Dance (I am awesome at "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go") and going to Starbucks as often as I can. Yessir.

When my mind isn't being bombarded with theories and practices of teaching, I find my mind wandering ... to Europe. I'm not gonna lie, there's mornings where I wake up and wish I was back at The Boy's grandparents' house, listening to roosters nearby and actually enjoying waking up at 7 in the morning.

I miss the Danube, I miss the food, I miss the architecture. But I guess my simple smile was that I even got to go on that vacation ... and that I took a ton of photos :)

Since I can't be back in Europe whenever I please (if only!), I try to make the most of where I'm at in Ontario through:

This month has been all about catch-up and I love it - going out for dinner and Starbucks dates, random shopping excursions, laughing at ridiculous Pictionary drawings (I drew 'plastic surgery' as a girl with huge boobs and a guy standing over her holding a scalpel ... the guesses were hilarious, and just proves that I'm a horrible artist), and taking 'class photos' with a big group of people. Oh, and enjoying a delicious breakfast at 1:00 PM which included crepes, french toast, and a bucket of fruit on top (delicious).

All of those are simple smiles, but one major one is: The Boy is actually enjoying fandoms I love. He came over last Thursday for the premiere of The Vampire Diaries (ahh the last scene broke my heart) and so far we've watched the first two Harry Potter films; he hasn't read the books, but it's a start (as long as he stops calling him Harry Pothead).

Tonight I'm off to see Drive with Ryan Gosling (we were initially going to see The Lion King 3D but figured we should probably go see a movie we haven't seen before ... and that will have older people in the theatre lol). How're you enjoying the week?

Oooh, extra simple smile: forgetting to make coffee this morning, realizing how tired I am for class (which ran from 8:00am-5:00pm today) and then having my cohort group bring in STARBUCKS for the entire class. It was amazing.

What's your simple smile of the week so far?
And what's your favourite thing about autumn?
(Or spring, if that's the season coming up for you!)

P.S. Giveaway coming soon; hopefully it'll be a hoot!

a sample of memories

When I was younger, I used to adore Saturday morning grocery shopping - my family would head to the local Denninger's (which I now realize is only in southern Ontario, 'tis a shame) and I would get a sample of my favourite deli meat or some kind of treat they were setting up at a table.**

Well, since this past week and a bit has been a little on the busy side (half-studying, half-relaxing-time-as-to-not-go-insane-from-studying), I figured this post could be a sample of memories, if you will - some pictures of what I've been up to for the past fortnight. Which just about proves that whenever I'm not studying for final examinations, I'm doing one of two things: exploring the outdoors, or eating.

**P.S. It's memories like these that make me realize that I'm only getting older. No more free samples of turkey bologna for me (maybe that's why I barely go grocery shopping with my parents nowadays).

The downtown Christmas tree and The Boy hiding behind me and my large earmuffs, haha.

We went to a local pub eatery for the first time that, aside from having neat lights, specialized in seafood - and so we had, also for the first time, popcorn alligator. Actually tasted pretty good!

My brilliant university decided to schedule one of my exams at 7:30pm - ON A SATURDAY. A SATURDAY NIGHT. Even my Dad didn't understand and said, "But Saturday nights are for relaxing!" My thoughts exactly, father. So, to make the night less painful, me and my friend/classmate headed to the coffee shop across campus to study. I had the largest cappuccino ever and a delicious grilled chicken portobello wrap. Mmmm.

Not even two full days later, I had another exam at 9am. (Oh and of course, they schedule it so my last exam isn't until a week and a half later. The agony.) After handing in a paper, I decided to take some pictures of my snow-filled campus - including a bench that no one in their right mind would sit on and one of the oldest and prettiest buildings.

The rest of my week has been spent sending off Christmas cards, doing 75% of my gift-shopping, rewarding myself with some Starbucks after three out of four exams, photographing an event and attending a meeting, and playing way too much Sims 2. It's addictive. It's a problem.

On that note, I wanted to give a big, big HELLO! to all the new followers I've just seen pop up to the side! And of course, all of you who follow this blog on the weekly-or-longer basis that I update it. Feel free to say hello!, and if you'd like me to check out your blog, I'd love to :)

Feels strange that it's nearly the end of 2010, nearly the end of a decade (wowee). So my next few posts will probably be a recap of this spontaneous year of 2010, and what I'm looking forward to next year!

What are your plans this weekend?
Hope it's full of exploring and eating!

aaaah freak out!

It's that most "wonderful time of the year" ... a.k.a. exams. Err, I mean, Christmas! Jack Frost nipping at your nose, steaming warm tea or hot cocoa filling your lungs and tummy with warmth, snug boots to keep the wetness of slush away ... although, thank goodness, there hasn't been much snow here yet (I appreciate it more when I don't have an hour commute to uni). But I'm excited for the time off, for time with family and friends and getting to know a little acquiantance called my future.

My M.I.A.-ness is starting to irritate me even, which is weird considering it's my blog. I think I've just realized how much I suck at multi-tasking. As much as I wanted to update here and be updated elsewhere, and felt that I could handle juggling a whole bunch of things at once, I kind of lost my mind. After six essays, two tests, and teachers college applications all due within a week and a half I kind of took a break digitally (but I didn't do a 'digital death', who else thought that campaign was a bit tacky even if it had good intentions?).

Needless to say, this past Thursday I had a bit of an Aaaaah FREAK OUT! moment, but without the Le freak, c'est chic afterwards. After some much-needed catching up time with my closest and bestest friends, watching movies and first season Castle episodes with my mama, and finally seeing The Boy after a week since he's been sick/we've both been busy ... I finally feel ready to get back into the swing of things. Finish up exams, apply for my Masters (gulp), and get back to things that are better than coffee ... like spending time with loved ones and getting back into the blogsophere (cheesy sentence is cheesy).

All this goes to show how much I suck at multitasking. But I put the pro in procrastinor.
What are your methods when the going gets tough? My method is to look forward to good times:
Craving salted caramel hot chocolate, making more goofy faces with The Boy, and spending nights in with my girlfriends watching our favourite holiday movies.

Up next is my future: trying to figure out what to do with my life (and hopefully not go broke) in the next six-eight months. Care to join me? ;)

what I value (ba da ba ba ba)

The week has arrived - my "plan your own funeral" project for my summer class is due this week (which means my class is coming to an end this week and I'm thoroughly thrilled for that). Only thing is? I haven't started it. I've had a little too much fun this weekend involving a barbeque/drinkfest at The Boy's place, and then two Filipino graduation parties (i.e. delicious food, precious times with family, and karaoke galore).

Not to mention, the Fifa World Cup has started and even though Poland didn't make it, I'm still watching it like crazy and rooting for my favourite teams - namely: Spain, Germany, and England (despite their mishap).

The main point of this project, I've found, is to reflect on how your funeral choices speak about what you value most in life. The word 'value' seems to be tossed around so easily these days - "value meals" at McDonald's (blergh), getting 5% off some furniture is apparently a big value, the value of a dollar ... annnnd, I've reached the point where 'value' no longer looks like a real word (I hate when that happens).

So now, onto some things that I value, in no particular order, so I can get a better handle on my 'funerary choices' (and err, if you can think of any choices for a funeral based on what I value, let me know por favore)!

Having people around me that I can trust and who put their trust in me; to have people count on me makes me feel honoured and makes me hope that I never let them down.

Every single one of you that I've had the pleasure of "meeting" online; whether it's reading your posts, writing to you, reading your comments that make me laugh and make me want to start a scrapbook of blogging adventures; it all means so much to me.

DELICIOUS BUBBLE TEA! ... and food, in general; especially while having quality time with someone.

My health; trying to treat my body as best as I can.
My family. Having been to two Filipino parties this weekend, my close friends were surrounded by family. My sister now lives on the other side of the country and my extended family are half-way across the world - I miss them so much and am                 blessed with any moments I get to have with them.

My friends. Those lovely people that have become my family when I've had no one else; ones I can talk to about anything; ones that don't mind my craziness with taking tons of photos.

Group photo at The Boy's barbeque party shindig :)

Having the opportunity to do things in my life; sometimes it's too easy to take things for granted, but I try not to.

A boyfriend who refuses to let me buy Tim Horton's coffee  in the morning - because he's going to make me a coffee instead :)

The ability to smell fresh strawberries, hear a symphony of violins (this sounds so cheesy), hug someone I love, taste a delicious meal, and see a beautiful view.

Having a Dad who, when commenting on fouls in the World Cup, says, "Sometimes it happens accidentally, other times it's international." Me: "You mean, intentional?"

Memories; whether the memories are good or bad, being able to observe and learn from the past and reflect on the happy times as well as the difficult moments.

Cuddling with my dog, Shadow. Only thing that's better than cuddling with him is cuddling with The Boy haha.

And I've found I can go on and on, but I'll stop for now. The only choices I've really made so far are: a) when people go to the coffin (which I think I might want closed), they will take a shot of strawberry kiwi juice since that's my favourite drink of all time (OF ALL TIME!); b) instead of just some portrait of me near my casket, I'd want a collage of photos with people I love; c) umm ... more of a happy service than a sad one, methinks.

Okay, this post is officially morbid. But once the planning is through (and hopefully these plans won't become a reality for a long long time *knocks on wood*) and the class is done, I'll have more time for present things, yipee! Finishing this class is kind of my simple smile of the week, though I'll miss seeing my friend twice a week!

What's your simple smile of the week?
And what do you value? :)

wednesday wishes + shopping sprees

It's that time of year where I can step outside, take a breath of fresh-ish air and cry out, "FREEDOM!" Of course, that freedom is going to be short-lived, but at the moment I am a proud (albeit tired) student who has finished her undergraduate degree! And although my back-up plan kicks off next week (i.e., coming back to do a minor in Religious Studies on top of my double major in English and Multimedia), I'm going to enjoy the time I have off ... plus, I'll only have class on Tues/Thurs of May and June, so let's just say it's summertime for me! Yipee!

And because I'm finally on vacation, I've been doing some hardcore wishing on top of some celebrating with The Boy in the form of sleepovers and shopping sprees that make us happy. I'll admit, The Boy bought more clothes than I did but I tend to be really picky when spending my limited amount of money (gulp).

I've been looking for a cute skirt for a while and though I was aiming for floral print, couldn't resist this one - if you want larger/more details about the skirt, please look at the image right here. And then I just got a simple white tee, but it has a neat design in the fabric and I love little tiny pockets :)

Oh, and the other day my mom graciously bought me a pair of Adidas running shoes - motivation to run outside, whoopah!

And as for where I've been wishing about lately? It's somewhere I've been to before, but never really got the chance to explore fully - Warszawa (or Warsaw), the capital of Poland. Exactly two years ago I was there - boarded my first airplane and flew off to the main city, jetlagged and make-up-less, taking in the sights for a mere few hours before driving off to see family. But the city captured me in its spell - a combination of both old and new, of typical Polish food and all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants. I can't wait to hopefully go back there this August to take more of it in.

In the 'new' part of the city, high-rise buildings are spread and combine old and new ...
I saw so many shopping malls it made my head spin (really hope I get to go to at least one).

A small view at the colourful buildings in Stare Miasto - Old City, my favourite part of Warszawa.

So many look-out points and so many bright slanted rooftops.

This is my "Welcome to me shop!" pose :)

The streets of Old Warsaw are hustling and bustling - if you take a little peek at the roped-off area you'll see an older war-truck ... there were shooting not one, but two films that day on that street, and at a nearby church there was a wedding going on! Always so much to see.

And being the first European city that I ever stepped onto, I fell in love with the cobblestone streets. By the way, can anyone tell what that fuzzy figure is? In Polish, it's called piwo.

What are you wishing about today?
Hope you're having a good hump day!

festive cheer and freedom

I'm feeling a little festive, so I had to change my little header above. Reasons for such festivity?

i) I got my first Christmas card in the mail today from Nicole and it made my day :)
ii) I'm finished all my exams and projects! It feels so great to have a few weeks off from school.
iii) I'm looking forward to catching up with friends I haven't seen in ages.
iv) A few overdue awards from Carla and Sara! I got the Kreativ Blogger award from Sara and this lovely award on the left. Both involve sharing 7-10 facts about yourself and then passing it along. I'd like to award Manju, Margarita, Amanda, and Krissy! I decided to put a little spin on things and instead share ten things I can't wait to experience  and do in the next few weeks -- hope you gals don't mind!

1) Reading
I have the biggest pile of books waiting for me to just tackle them with hungry fingers (makes it sound like it's a feast, meep). Sometimes it feels good to just read for pleasure instead of reading something that's on a course outline. I've already read the last book in the Confessions of Georgia Nicolson series called "Are These My Basoomas I See Before Me?" My sister got me into these books way back when the first one came out -- I feel like a bit of my childhood is gone now it's over (the same feeling I felt when I finished reading the Harry Potter series haha).

2) Catching Up With Friends
It's going to be so good to hug those friends I haven't seen in a while and avoid all topics regarding school and work. I can't wait to catch up with the friends I can just talk to about anything and everything. As you get older, it seems harder to hold onto friendships, mostly because life just gets in the way. I love the friends I have where we understand life is busy, but what we have is important. Ah, I'm a cheeseball.

3) Apple Cider (Cocktails)
Me and my closest friends are bringing back our Secret Santa tradition and exchanging our gifts at a potluck-dinner Christmas party that I can not wait for. Hopefully on the menu is apple cider cocktails, which is the recipe of the week. I've never actually tried them, but just the thought of them makes me thirsty. This list is making me both hungry and thirsty now (my stomach just grumbled).

4) Snow!
And I don't mean that nasty, gnarly snow -- that's only good when you have chestnuts roasting on an open fire (and I don't have a fireplace). But I love the feeling of seeing a good few inches of powder snow on the ground, and seeing it glisten as the sun hits it. So pretty. Today's been a combination of a little snow and rain (not cool).

5) Making Things
That sounds so ominous ... what will I be making? BABIES! (just kidding!) But I hope to tackle some form of home-made crafts, either to give as gifts or just to admire.  Catching my eye are making frosted glass, an exploding box of photos, or this snowglobe that I found via weheartit which led me to this blog entry about de-cluttering your kitchen and making snowglobes. I thought it was adorably cute and would love to try it out ... maybe with a little plastic coffee cup? And, as you can tell, I've been doing a lot of discovering via the world wide web ... that's because I'm a lazy bum who spent the first day of freedom on the computer, yipee.

6) Cards & Presents
Over the next few days I'm going to be writing and sending a bunch of cards and I can't wait. My mom's been grumbling and saying she hates writing cards out to our relatives, but I love to send things (paying for postage? not so much love there). On top of that, I'm going to be braving the mall with its overcrowdedness and try to get some nice items to give to the parentals/the friends/The Boy/the dog (yup, he gets a present)! Wish me luck that I don't get trampled? :)

7) Getting Out Of Town
The past few months have all been a routine, with not much room for adventure. I would love to go on a road trip (with clear roads) to a nearby town and explore while getting yummy samples of fudge. Or maybe go to an outdoor skating rink in another city.

Now, The Boy's never been skating, so I'm sure we would be as paralyzed as the couple in that picture (but hopefully we'd look just as fancy, haha). I get so happy at the thought that I don't have to see my school for the next few weeks ... makes it sound like I hate school (ironic, since my whole life is going to be school), but it's just overwhelmed me. I just want to get outta town.

8) Sleeping
I need to catch up with my pillow -- projects have made me abandon it far too early in the morning, so I can't wait to sleep some more.

9) The Holidays
Christmas and New Year's are right around the corner -- it's going to be a bit different this year with my sister on the other side of the country (plus the fact that my family's kind of given out presents early ... oops), but I know it's about more than just that. And while plans for New Year's are still up in the air, hopefully it'll involve more catching up with friends and a new year's kiss? (Ever since that episode of Friends where none of them get kissed at midnight, it's kind of stuck with me. I am cool.)

10) Drinking LOTS of coffee and getting a holiday drink from Starbucks/catching up on blogs/playing The Sims and/or Final Fantasy/watching a ton of movies/experimenting in the kitchen/drinking yummy hot chocolate/cleaning my room/making graphics/just relaxing.
Yeah, that's about it in a nutshell.

Thanks to you all for always being so amazing, I'm sending lots of hugs your way.
If you'd like a Christmas card, drop me an e-mail :)

And now I have to ask:
What's made your week better?

simple smiles & school

Good news outta the way first: my dog is a 4-teeth geezer, but he's doing great! Yesterday we picked him up and he was all drowsy and drugged and while he keeps wanting to pick at his soon-to-dissolve stitches, he's been holding up really well. His teeth are actually white, he'll have no more bad toxic-zone-like breath, and best of all, no more infections. Glad that my Shadow's back! Thanks for all the sweet comments about him and the whole C scenario -- still haven't talked with her, still not planning to anytime soon!

Now for some great news: I got a package today from the amazing Adele and the beautiful Becks (woot for alliteration), and if you haven't visited their blogs, I suggest you do! It was so nice of you two, and while I have Becks' address, I'll need yours too Adele so I can send you both something as well! Blogging friendships are something really amazing ... and they know me so well that they got me coffee!

I cannot wait to try that coffee out!
And that box is adorable -- it's magnetic, and while my Mom won't allow me to put it on our fridge, I'll make use of it now and on my future fridge! Thanks so much, you two!

And now onto the not-so-great news: school is now in full swing. This means that: a) I have kickass Profs that attribute the 18th century to creating the printing press, the newspaper, and basically saying that its responsible for blogging and that if the people in the 18th century had RSS Feeds and Google Reader, that they'd be on cloud nine (seriously, she's that awesome of a Prof); and b) since I have a no-laptop-on-the-first-week-tradition, I need a left-handed desk since I'm left-handed. Well, all those swingy desks are for right-handed people except for one row. That row is usually taken by laptop-users or lazy people so I have to choose an area in the middle where I can use a desk as a left-handed person. Well, today I did that and a girl came and instead of taking the empty seat beside me on the right-hand side, she took the chair with my desk ... which made me sad.

Oh, and school also means spending hundreds of moola on the lovely photo you see (I still have to buy more). And you'll probably notice tons of lovely yellow 'USED' stickers -- always goes for the used, people. It's usually at least $5 cheaper, and in some cases, $30 cheaper, which makes me happy and then I go out and spend this $30 on hair dye, two magazines, and a Crunchie chocolate bar 'cause they are yummy. Yes.

Oh, and on Tuesdays and Wednesdays I have six hours of class in a row and judging by today, my ass is going to be REALLY numb. Fun times? I promise I won't try to complain that much about school, and I can see myself blogging a lot on Mondays where I'll be having a 3-hour break (or maybe I'll just watch Lord of the Rings instead).

Hope those who have class have settled in just fine and hope you're enjoying a good start to the week! I promise I'll get back into the swing of things in terms of blogging/catching up soon, thanks for being patient and the bestest :)
