happy hallowe'en!
Two years ago, I was a schoolgirl with her nerd. A year ago, I was a senorita named Rita. This year for Halloween? I'm dressing as an essay-writer ... so basically, my regular attire, my computer, and two books all ready to duke it out and write a paper that's due tomorrow. Spooky, huh? (insert Debbie Downer music here)
The main reason why I've continued to dress up over the years is because one of my best friends' birthdays happens to fall on Halloween, so the two went hand-in-hand. This time, due to work, we had to celebrate early so we just dressed up as ladies celebrating a birthday :)
Four best friends that a gal could ask for :)
Me with the birthday girl!
The night involved delicious food, cupcakes, catching up on life, meeting some pet rats (and surprisingly not being disgusted by it), and having a few more shots of vodka than I had anticipated to (but I was fiiiiiiiine, hehe). Now I'm just expecting to curse anyone who dares to ding-dong on our door for candy while I'm writing my paper :P
As for the rest of my week? Well, I dyed my hair! The box on the right a few posts ago ended up being the winner, and I ended up with more or less the same hair colour as before - just a tad lighter with a reddish pop :) And my second highlight of the week involved a surprise from The Boy - our loaded schedules mean that sometimes Wednesday nights is our only real night to spend together and this past one involved:
A delicious meal in the form of spaghetti, palacsinta (Hungarian crepes, recipe of the week!) and wine complete with candlelight.
That classic cliche that the way through a man's heart is through his stomach? The same can be applied to me. I was shocked and touched :) It was a perfect meal but it raised the stakes ... what should I cook for him for the next surprise dinner? *Suggestions gratefully welcomed :)*
And I'm slowly starting to get into the swing of things blog-wise; it's the first month since May that I've actually made more than six posts in a month so that's an improvement? But I definitely need to catch up, so bare with me and thanks, as always, for sticking by here and for being amazing bloggers.
Now, I must ask:
What did you do this Hallowe'en weekend?
And what's the creepiest thing that's ever happened to you?
I'm trying to remember the most creepiest. The main things that come to mind are gross men on buses or the time that it was stormy and I was hanging out at a friend's house. When the rain fell softly, we decided to take a stroll to the pizza store to get some food, and there were WORMS ALL OVER THE SIDEWALK. I hate wooooooorms, their squirmy bodies all over the sidewalk and you don't want to step on them so you tiptoe all around them bleerghhhh.
Oh, or the time that me and my co-workers were sitting in the staff room at the high school and suddenly some woman came over the speakerphone on the phone nearby and went, "Heeeellooooooo?" in the creepiest high-pitched voice. I used to write 'creepy' as 'creppy' ... and yes. Hope you all have a great start to November!

That sucks about the paper; I've got 2 assignments due this week, but I decided to skip homework this weekend and go out haha

Those crepes look soooo tempting! I'm glad that even though you're busy you and The Boy still find and make time for each other <3
My Halloween weekend consisted of not being invited to a very close girl friend's birthday :( and missing a blogger event because I was dead-tired from my trip and work x_x As for the creepiest thing... Well I'm glad I haven't had any experiences with the ghosties :D
I miss you missy!
Happy, Happy belated Halloween weekend, Nikolett! I dressed up as a black cat for about five minutes; then I got cold and went inside! :P
Yummy crepes! I was in NYC for the weekend- check out my post :)
A night is always a success when there are cupcakes involved IMO! You ladies looked gorgeous!
we didn't do much this halloween, dressed up a little but i dont think most people got what we were trying to do! haha. glad you had fun! xo
well you already know my answer to BOTH your questions.. especially the CREEPY part. hahaha! I was just commenting on Krissy's latest blog post about how getting together with friends and keep traditions alive get harder as you get older and as "real life" becomes more and more real. sigh. Anyway, back to Halloween - i remember in high school, my best friend worked at burger king while i worked at Mcdonalds so for Halloween we both went trick or treating in our work uniforms. hahahha! LAME-O.
As for surprise dinner attack on le boy - MAC AND CHEEZ BALLZ. Random right? I've been craving it forever and i think it would just taste delicious and it would be fun eating it... and being immature and laughing at the word "ballz" as you eat them.
my sisters birthday is halloween - so we normally dress up as people celebrating a birthday too lol. I got to have a party this year though, hurray!
wine and candlelight suprise dinner sounds lovely :)
Such a beautiful group. Oh and worms all over the sidewalk?! Ewww much! I actually stepped on a worm accidentally the other day and it was the grossest thing ever I heard it make a crunch noise. Ewww!
I'm super into Halloween so I usually go all out. But it's funny, when I was reading this post, your friend, the birthday girl, was wearing the same dress I wore on Halloween last year when I dressed up as a cute zebra! :)
Glad you had a fun time and with friends! I didn't go out this year for Halloween so it's always fun to see others have fun. :)
